HighTec IDE 2.x/3.x and Apache Log4j CVE-2021-44228
A vulnerability CVE-2021-44228 affecting Apache Log4j was discovered.
HighTec development team performed an investigation to assess the impact of the reported vulnerability CVE-2021-44228 on HighTec Integrated Development Environment (IDE) version 2.x and 3.x. Our conclusion is the HighTec IDE, all versions 2.x and 3.x, are NOT IMPACTED by this vulnerability. The vulnerability was introduced in the Log4j 2.x, which our IDE in question does not use. We may take further steps should new development concerning this vulnerability happen. As a general precaution, we strongly encourage users to use the latest updated IDE (download links below) and not install/use any 3rd party plugins/extensions.
Faster build, advanced code optimization for AURIX MCUs, faster safety certification
Saarbrücken/Germany, 30 July 2021 – HighTec EDV-Systeme GmbH presents a new version of the compiler of the HighTec C/C++ Development Platform for Infineon's AURIX TC4xx. The current version 5.3.0 convinces with a complete integration of the TC4xx family, its even faster build system and the advanced code optimizations based on the architecture-specific functions of the AURIX microcontrollers. Sub-processors like HSM, GTM/MCS or PPU and other application specific architectures are also fully supported.
HighTec's new C/C++ compiler supports ST Stellar series
With its LLVM compiler technology based Development Platform, HighTec provides full support for the ARM Cortex-R52 based multi-core microcontrollers (MCUs).
The Stellar MCUs support next-generation car architectures, which rely on broad “domain controllers” for areas such as Drivetrain, Chassis, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Major applications for Stellar MCUs include smart control for hybrid powertrain, the broad electrification of car systems with on-board chargers, battery-management systems and DC-DC controllers, as well as smart gateways, ADAS, and enhanced Vehicle Stability Controls.
STMicroelectronics named HighTec as compiler vendor in the ST Partner Program that supports the new Stellar MCUs. The HighTec toolset is supported by other vendors in the Stellar ecosystem, such as debugger and AUTOSAR OS vendors.
Optimized RTOS for TriCore, AURIX and AURIX 2G
HighTec is proud to announce that our operating system now has been officially safety approved. HighTec just received the certificate confirming the fitness of PXROS-HR for safety-related applications up to SIL3 (IEC61508) and ASIL-D (ISO 26262).
The certificate includes an assessment report containing the assessment results of the certification authority, TÜV-Nord Systems GmbH & Co. KG. We are really impressed with the thorough understanding of the design principles of PXROS-HR that is shown by the report.
The SIL3/ASIL-D achievement makes our real-time operating system (RTOS) the optimal and safety approved solution for non-AUTOSAR based automotive and industrial applications, including agriculture and forestry machines/equipment.
New version v3.0 of the GTM/MCS C Compiler Toolchain was released. New features are:
The GTM compiler has been developed in close cooperation with the IP developer and MCU vendors, and is used by leading Tier1s. The compiler is available as standalone solution, as well as in attractive combination "Packs" with MCU C/C++ compilers.
The most benefit of 'C' programming you can get when using it on architectures implementing GTM/MCS version 3 and later. The C code can be mixed with legacy GTM assembly code.
While the C compiler can be used standalone, it can also be used in conjunction with HighTec's C compilers for the main CPU (on which the GTM/MCS core is hosted). The compiler can also be used in combination with other vendor's C compiler for the main CPU.
HiRain Technologies
HighTec has teamed up with HiRain Technologies for the sales and support of HighTec's products in China. HiRain is a well established player on the market, offering a wide range of development tools for embedded applications through their tools division. Their ECU/Platform division is now able to provide total solution packages to OEMs, consisting of ECU hardware and development tools for the respective micrcontrollers on the ECUs. HiRain will work in close collaboration with HighTec's office in Shanghai to support its customers.
The partnership with HiRain is another step forward to serve HighTec customers as direct as possible through local experts, and complements the setup with HighTec's Shanghai office as well as HighTec's existing distribution partner Beijing Siener Electronics Tech. Development.
Focus to extended AURIX 2G support and new generation IDE
New version v4.9.3.0 of the Hightec toolset for TriCore is available.
The main new features in this C/C++ compiler for TriCore, AURIX and AURIX 2G are:
The new TriCore compiler version is available immediately for new license sales. Depending on the maintenance and support agreement, this new version is available to registered license holders as free update, available through the download portal.
The new version is also available for evaluation.
Local sales and support presence in Shanghai
HighTec has opened a local office in Shanghai to support its growing customer base in China mainland. The new office will serve customers with the HighTec Development Platforms, and software libraries from the semiconductor vendors, like the MCAL or safety libraries from Infineon and STMicroelectronics.
Through the setup with HighTec China a further step is made to be present as close as possible to our customers.
